A 12V power inverter turns a vehicle or battery bank into AC power. ERAYAK sells modified sine wave TANK models and a pure sine wave DSU model. We compare four using only the brand’s stated specs.
The short version
- TANK400: 400W / 800W peak, 1.2 lb, two AC outlets and USB-C.
- TANK1000: 1000W / 2000W surge, modified sine, LCD display.
- TANK3000: 3000W / 6000W surge, remote included, direct-connect terminal.
- DSU-2000: 2000W / 4000W peak, pure sine wave, over 90% efficiency.

Who it suits: RV, truck or solar systems that need more output, with a suitable battery bank and cabling.
ERAYAK DSU-2000 2000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter

Pure sine wave for sensitive electronics
- 2000W continuous and 4000W peak; pure sine wave; over 90% conversion efficiency
- No-load draw under 9W; two AC outlets, USB-A (5V, 2.1A) and an 18W USB-C output
- The brand says pure sine wave suits a broad range of devices within the inverter limits
Who it suits: Setups with sensitive electronics where waveform matters.
How to choose between them
- Waveform. TANK models are modified sine wave; the brand says to confirm every device supports it. The DSU-2000 is pure sine wave, which the brand says suits a broad range of devices within its limits.
- Continuous vs surge. Size to continuous watts and leave room for surge.
- Battery and cables. A larger inverter needs a battery bank and cable sized for the current; follow the manual.
- Fuse and ventilation. Install with the proper fuse and keep the inverter ventilated.
Safety first
- Run a generator outdoors, away from windows, doors and vents. Never run one in a garage, basement or enclosed space; carbon monoxide can kill.
- Install battery-operated carbon monoxide alarms in the home.
- Do not back-feed your house through a wall outlet; a transfer switch or interlock installed by a licensed electrician is the safe route.
- Add up the running watts of everything you plan to run and leave headroom for starting surge (compressors, pumps).
FAQ
Can an inverter run a refrigerator?
Possibly, if the continuous and surge ratings and the battery can handle the compressor start. Check the appliance nameplate and the inverter specs.
Are these specs tested by you?
No. The numbers are the brand’s claims.
